We answer your commonly asked questions about our wellness clinic.
Our Naturopathic Doctors have been seeing patients since 2004. Zentai Wellness Centre has been operating at our current location since 2006.
Zentai Wellness Clinic is open by appointment only. We do not accept walk-ins. Our Naturopathic Doctors are available for appointments Tuesdays to Saturdays. They are unavailable on Sundays and Mondays.
For the hours of Zentai’s other practitioners, please go to their profile page or contact them directly.
While we prefer to see our patients in person – especially for the initial visit – we understand that sometimes that is not possible. We have quite a few patients who live outside the GTA, have young children, are care-givers to disabled or elderly persons, or otherwise have mobility challenges.
We offer telehealth consults by a private health platform. We have made it convenient to book your appointment online.
Credit card information is required upon booking long-distance consultations. We will only charge your card after the consultation.
Yes, we are wheelchair accessible! We have quite a few patients who have mobility challenges.
While our clinic is on the third floor, there are elevators on the ground floor and we are just around the corner from the elevators. The entrance to the building itself is level. There are no stairs to navigate when entering or going to the elevators.
Washrooms are on the same floor as the clinic and are also wheelchair accessible.
Street parking is available on Carlton Street during the following times:
Additional 1hr street parking is available on Homewood Avenue (one street east of Jarvis Street) from 10am to 6pm.
Pay parking lot is located on Sherbourne Street (east side, just north of Carlton).
Yes, you can get a test done without becoming a regular patient of our naturopathic doctors.
We will book you in for a 15 minute appointment, during which time the doctor will discuss the test with you. You will pay for the test at this time. The 15 minute appointment is complimentary.
Depending on the test you want, the doctor will either take a sample during this appointment or you will be given the test kit to take home with you for your own sample collection. The kit includes everything you will need to collect and store your samples as well as all the supplies needed to mail the samples to the laboratory. Postage fees are included with the cost of the test. Full instructions are also included in the kit.
We will contact you when your test results arrive.
We recommend booking a 30 minute follow-up consultation with the doctor to discuss and interpret your results.
Test results typically take 14 business days from the time the lab receives your sample to the time we receive them. The results will be sent to Zentai Wellness Centre and we will contact you when they arrive.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to expedite your results as the labs process many tests at the same time. Occasionally, we have had tests arrive sooner than the expected time frame, but that is not in our control.
No, we do not require a referral. Just give us a call at 647-436-6271, email us or book online now!
It is best to book at least a week in advance. If you are looking to book a Saturday appointment, then we recommend booking at least three weeks in advance.
If you need to see the doctor sooner, we can place you on our Rush List. In the event of a cancellation, we will offer you that time slot on a first-come-first-served basis.
To respect the doctor’s time and to ensure timely access to everyone who may need to see the doctor, we require 48 hours notice for changes to appointments that are at least 60 minutes in length. For appointments less than 60 minutes, we require 24 hours notice.
In the event of late changes or no-shows, patients will be charged a fee equal to the cost of their appointment.
We understand that emergencies happen and that sometimes life is beyond our control. Please do not hesitate to contact us to let us know you cannot make your appointment, even if it is last minute. We appreciate it when patients keep us in the loop!
Naturopathic services are not covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). However, the majority of extended healthcare insurance policies do provide full or partial coverage for treatment by Naturopathic Doctors.
Contact your employer or private insurance agent to determine the extent of your coverage.
Because everyone’s benefits plan is different, we recommend that you talk with your insurance provider or employer to determine whether and to what extent you are covered for naturopathic care, massage therapy, hypnotherapy or psychotherapy.
If needed, we can provide a sample invoice for you to submit to your insurer for a pre-determination of coverage.
We also suggest that you inquire about any coverage for health testing, as some insurance companies will cover health tests.
Yes! We are a registered provider with Telus Health, which means that we can process your health claim immediately with participating insurance companies.
Participating insurance companies include Manulife, Sun Life, Canada Life, among others. Click here to see if your insurance company is part of Telus Health.
In order for us to process your claim, please come prepared with your Plan ID and Member ID. If you are covered under another person’s insurance plan, please also bring their Member ID and Birth Date information.
We will issue you an itemized invoice with the doctor’s registration number, which you can then submit to your insurer for reimbursement.
Even if your insurance company is part of Telus Health, your particular plan may have restrictions which prevent us from directly billing for the full cost of your visit. In that event, you will need to pay the difference upfront.
