Children’s Food Sensitivities – Food Allergy Test
Could your child’s diet be aggravating their health?
Hidden food sensitivities could be affecting your child‘s mood, behaviour or health. Sometimes a seemingly healthy food can lead to a sensitivity or allergic reaction that can lead to inflammation, which can affect a multitude of health dimensions in a child. It may not be severe or immediate, as say a peanut allergy, but there can be non-life-threatening low-grade sensitivities that can affect a child’s day-to-day functioning.
The IgG Food Sensitivity Test looks at a different type of allergic reaction from the conventional skin prick test; is more comprehensive; and requires just a few drops of blood.
Many chronic conditions – from IBS and digestive problems to migraines to depression and mood disorders – may be indicators of a food sensitivity. Common offenders include dairy and gluten, but food sensitivities can be complex and difficult to pinpoint. In many cases, a less obvious source may be causing or contributing to a patient’s symptoms.
We have a wide variety of tests available to assess IgG, IgG4, and IgA antibody response to foodborne allergens. We offer a general 240, 144, and 96 food panel, as well as 4 specialized panels to help identify sensitivities to foods and spices found in typical Asian, Japanese, Mexican, Vegetarian diets.
More information on the different panels can be found below.
Additional allergen panels can also be added to the test, including airborne allergens and herbs/spices, for an extra cost.
