Dr. Makoto Trotter, ND, is a licensed Toronto naturopathic doctor and the proud father of two young children. He is also the author of two health books explaining and addressing leaky gut syndrome and acne. He graduated on the Dean’s Honours List with an Honours Biochemistry-Biotechnology degree from the University of Waterloo, with work experience in the field of molecular biology at biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.
Subsequently, he continued his journey to become a naturopathic doctor, graduating summa cum laude from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. He is licensed in Ontario by the College of Naturopaths of Ontario.
Dr. Makoto has always been passionate about holistic medicine and strives to share his knowledge with others. He is dedicated to educating his patients to understand and maintain a healthier lifestyle, using realistic means and a rationale approach.
Dr. Makoto has a special interest in digestion, hormone and skin conditions.
Dr. Makoto is very experienced treating patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis). Additionally, he treats patients with chronic undiagnosed problems such as constipation, diarrhea, gas, bloating and heartburn.

Additionally, testing for food allergies is an integral first step to identifying aggravating foods in your diet, followed by naturopathic treatment to strengthen and support your digestive tract.
